Henri Zogaib returns to Michael Shank Racing for Rolex season finale
(Columbus, OH) 6 September 2007--Team owner Mike Shank announced today that car owner Henri Zogaib will return to the cockpit of the No. 6 Lexus-Riley Daytona Prototype for the season-ending Sunchaser 1000k at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.
Zogaib co-drove with Ian James in the opening three races of the 2007 season and quickly matched his Rolex career-best finish of tenth in Mexico City before stepping out of the cockpit to focus on emerging business opportunities. James has since shared the driving duties with John Pew during the 2007 season. Zogaib will co-drive with Pew and James in the Miller event, and the Florida resident is excited that his long layoff is over.
"It was a difficult decision to step away from racing this season, but it was the right call and now I am really looking forward to getting back in my car at Miller," said Zogaib. "John and Ian have done a great job this season and I am ready to go racing with them this weekend. I'd like to help the team have a strong finish to the season."
The No. 6 Playboy-liveried Lexus Riley has taken nine top-ten finishes this season and is eighth in the Rolex Team Championship standings heading into the Miller event, which the sister No. 60 won in 2006 as the No. 6 finished in fifth.
"We had a good run at Miller last year with both cars and hopefully we can do that again this year to grab a few more points in the championship," said Shank. "I know Henri has been missing being at the races this season. He's ready to go, and so are we!"
The Sunchaser event will open with a live broadcast on Speed Channel starting at 1:00 PM ET on Saturday, September 15.
