Graydon Elliott Fusion Racing with MSR Mexico practice report

(Mexico City, Mexico) 2 March 06-- The Mexico City round of the Rolex Sports Car Series did not get underway as planned for Graydon Elliott Fusion Racing with MSR on Thursday. After notching the seventh quickest time in the opening practice session, the team suffered a setback after an accident in the second practice session.

"The car was pretty good in the first session, but we were just working to get rid of some understeer," said Tracy. "I was in the last corner just getting going on a fast lap and it just got sideways on me. I corrected, but I was already so close to the wall that there was no way to avoid contact. It's a shame for the guys and to lose the track time getting it fixed."

The Graydon Elliott Fusion Racing with MSR team hustled the damaged Lexus/Riley back to the garage and immediately set about making repairs to the car.

"We will be ready to go on Friday no problem," said Mike Shank. "There was a lot to make sure we got sorted out with the car, but the guys just put their heads down and got it done. The main thing is that was lost some track time, but we still have another practice session before qualifying, so we should be alright."

The distinctive No. 6 Graydon Elliott Fusion Racing with MSR machine will be set for qualifying at 11:30 Am local time on Friday, with the race slated for a 3:15 PM start.

Round two of the 2005 Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve will be carried by Speed Channel beginning at 8:00 PM ET on March 4.
