MCDOWELL AND GIDLEY TO START FROM ROW TWO FOR TOMORROW'S RUNNING OF THE MEXICO CITY 250

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (March 3, 2006) -- The driving duo of Michael McDowell and Memo Gidley, who won last year's Mexico City race from the pole position, will start tomorrow's running of the Mexico City 250 from the inside of Row Two.

Qualifying took place earlier today on the famed Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez race track and the No. 19 Playboy/Uniden/Palms Ford-powered Crawford machine posted a time of 1:23.143, less than a half second behind the pole time of fellow competitors Scott Pruett and Luis Diaz.

Experiencing understeer problems during yesterday's practice sessions, the crew of the No. 19 machine managed to fix the problem allowing for Michael McDowell to climb behind the wheel and qualify with ease for tomorrow's race.

The 250-mile/100-lap/2 ¾ -hour main event is scheduled for a 3:15 p.m. start on Saturday, March 4th and will be broadcast at 8:00 p.m. ET on the Speed Channel.

Driver Quotes:

Michael McDowell -- "The crew worked hard getting the car dialed in for qualifying today. The No. 19 Playboy/Uniden/Palms machine handled well but we had a bit of bad luck with the traffic situation and weren't really able to get in a clean lap."

Memo Gidley -- "I'm really happy with the progress that we've made and I'm confident that the car and the team are capable of repeating last year's victory."
