Grand Am Daytona Prototypes champion Memo Rojas will race his first triathlon this weekend in Manzanillo.

Mexican driver Memo Rojas, 2008 Grand Am Champion with Scott Pruett, will race this February 21 the Maeva Manzanillo Triathlon, the first round of the Mexican Triathlon Championship.

"I'm very exited, this is new and different experience and is a great way to keep in good shape before our next race in Virginia. I have never competed in a triathlon before and I'm sure I'll find a lot of challenges like swimming in the sea and doing all the sports in the heat under the sun. I'm gonna give my best and enjoy myself in one of the most beautiful beaches of Mexico" said Memo who finished second a few weeks ago in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona with Scott Pruett and Juan Pablo Montoya.

A total of 600 athletes are expected to take the start of the triathlon at 7:15 hours.
