Marcus Motorsports Returns to Grand American Road Racing in 2006

(Richmond, VA) October 5, 2005 - Marcus Motorsports announced today that they plan to return to Grand American Road Racing for the 2006 race season. They will compete with four drivers and two Porsche 997 race cars. The team will kick off a full season schedule this January 26-29 in Daytona, Florida.

Marcus Motorsports is no stranger to Grand American Road Racing. The team successfully campaigned BMW M3 race cars in the 2002 and 2003 race seasons. The team earned a second place finish in the overall Grand Am Cup Championship in 2003.

"I've been looking forward to making this announcement ever since the final lap of our 2003 season. Somehow, second place just wasn't good enough for us. Grand American is a world-class racing organization and we look forward to being a successful competitor among world-class drivers and teams once again," said team owner Steve Marcus.

Based in Richmond, VA, Marcus Motorsports also conducts racing schools with Factory Five Challenge Series spec race cars. For more information, please visit their web site at www.marcus-motorsports.com.
