MISSED CHANCE AT LAGUNA SECA

The result of the Rum Bum.com 250, with the crew Bobbi/Garcia twenty-eighth in the final classification, are not a faithful measure of the improvements showed at Laguna Seca in the development of the Coyote-Pontiac owned by Cheever Racing team.

Matteo Bobbi got the fourth best lap in qualifying, afterwards deleted due to a new rule that cancels all times scored by drivers that cause a yellow flag, even if after an error as in the case of the Milanese driver.

During the race Bobbi has been author of the first stint and held the fourth position until the driver change. During the pit-stop, mechanics did not realize a problem at the fixing of a wheel that went off right after Garcia's exit from the pit lane. The damages to the hub caused by the entering lap performed on three wheels only compromised definitively the outcome of the race.

Matteo Bobbi: "The car has certainly improved a lot. It's a shame that we did not manage to get a good result. Laguna Seca suited particularly our car since it does not have those long straights whereby we suffer a lot the lack of top speed. The latest updates to the absorbers seem to have been positive; we hope to have a further confirmation at Watkins Glen in three weeks time".
