ROJAS THIRD, LEWIS NINTH AS LEXUS QUALIFIES TWO IN TOP-10 AT LAGUNA
MONTEREY, Calif. (May 16, 2008) -- Memo Rojas qualified third, while fellow Lexus driver Shane Lewis placed ninth as both Lexus-powered cars in the field qualified in the top-10 for Saturday's Rolex Sports Car Series Rumbum.com 250 at Laguna Seca.
Rojas will co-drive the #01 Telmex Lexus with Scott Pruett tomorrow as the team looks for a record fourth win in the season's first five races. The Chip Ganassi Racing team won at Laguna in 2005 and placed second here a year ago. The duo take a 21-point lead into Saturday's race.
Lewis' ninth-place showing marks the third time in the last four races that the #3 Southard Lexus has qualified in the top-10. Lewis and teammate Bill Lester will be shooting for a fourth consecutive top-10 finish. After an early retirement at Daytona, the team has climbed into 11th-place.
