THE NO.19 PLAYBOY/UNIDEN/PALMS DAYTONA PROTOTYPE MOVES INTO SECOND PLACE IN TEAM POINT STANDINGS

MONTEREY, CA (May 6, 2006) -- Michael McDowell, driving the popular No.19 Playboy/Uniden/Palms sponsored machine qualified in the fourth position for tomorrow's running of the Road and Track 250. McDowell's qualifying effort moved the Mooresville, NC -- based team into the second position in team point standings just behind the 23 car driven by Patrick Long and Mike Rockenfeller.

"Fourth place wasn't exactly what we were looking for but with the Championship being so close we had to run a smart race. We were able to take over second place in the team points so our strategy seemed to pay off."

McDowell's teammate Guy Cosmo, filling in for the injured Memo Gidley, will start the 250-mile/112-lap/2 ¾ -hour time limit race from the second row.

"The Playboy/Uniden/Palms car has been good so far this weekend," said the likeable Guy Cosmo. "We've been near the top of the speed charts all weekend and hopefully we'll put the No.19 Crawford in the winner's circle tomorrow."

Round six of the 2006 Rolex Series season can be viewed live on Speed tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
