ALTON, Va. (December 16, 2005) -- Synergy Racing announced today that renowned European Porsche driver Patrick Huisman will join brothers Burt and Brian Frisselle in the Rx.com No. 8 Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype for the 2006 Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 28-29.
"It's good to be back with Synergy Racing," said Huisman, who last teamed with Synergy Racing for a podium finish in the 2003 VIR 400. "I'm really happy with how things went on Monday. The Porsche engine is very good for this chassis. There is a lot of potential there, and the progress we made in such a short time today was fantastic."
Huisman, a four-time Porsche Supercup champion, joined the Frisselle brothers for the two-day Hoosier Tire Test at Homestead-Miami Speedway earlier this month, where the three drivers broke in the Rx.com Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype. Despite a late start on the opening day of the test as final adjustments were made for the new Porsche engine, the Dutch driver was able to clock a 1:14.4 lap during his brief time on track--the third fastest time of the day.
"I have known Patrick for a long time," noted Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing co-owner. "We first raced together in 1998 at Sebring. He is not only the best Porsche pilot that I know, but he is a good friend and I am happy to have him be available to support our Rolex 24 At Daytona effort for Rx.com. Ken Hill of Rx.com wants to show the performance, speed and reliability of his company in the pharmaceutical world, and the best way that we can do this is with a good Daytona showing."
"I couldn't imagine a better choice for a teammate," said Brian. "Not only is he an extremely fast driver, but he's a super nice guy and is great to work with. He's done an amazing number of 24-hour races, so his experience will be a tremendous asset to Burt and me. Plus, he reads the car the same way we do, so we always know when he gets in to work on set-up, its going to come back better."
"I'm really excited to work with Patrick. I think he's the perfect teammate for Brian and I at the Rolex 24," added Burt. "With more than 20 24-hour races under his belt, he'll really be able to lead and work with us on preparation for the race. I think we'll be able to make a serious run at the overall win this year."

About Synergy Racing
Team owners Cole Scrogham and Danny and Steve Marshall introduced Synergy Racing in December 2004. Based at Virginia International Raceway, Synergy Racing is an evolution of G&W Motorsports, which had catered to Porsche racing since 1996 and became the most successful team in the Rolex Sports Car Series with three team championships and four driver champions, 15 class wins and more than 50 podium finishes. The team underwent a major transformation that included a name and logo change, as well as a complete restructuring into a customer-based championship racing business, which concentrates on the needs of the customer rather than the desires of the team.
