Homestead-Miami Speedway - At the team's home track, SpeedSource put the victory of Daytona behind them and focused on last Saturday's Gainsco Grand Prix of Miami for the Rolex Sports Car Series. In this DP-GT combined race, traffic and yellow flags set the tone for the day. From fourth on the GT grid, the No. 70 Mazdaspeed/Castrol Syntec GT RX-8 felt the impact of the traffic, taking a bump at the start that lost the rotary powerhouse 5 positions on the first lap. Hearing the news of the incident, team owner and driver Sylvain Tremblay just shook his head. The race would take everything Tremblay and veteran driver Nick Ham could give.

Tremblay summed up the day. "Nick did a great job during his stint to battle back and get us into contention. Our pit strategy served us well and some good restarts put us in third with 5 minutes to go. We seemed poised for a podium finish, but contact again lost us two positions. Fifth is a solid finish, but disappointing. We had a podium car, but couldn't get there today."

Choosing to start at the back of the field to take advantage of an engine change, the FXDD No. 69 of Emil Assentato and Jeff Segal worked up through the 26-car GT field, posting a remarkable run to take 8th place at the checker.

Putting the Homestead finish in perspective, Tremblay said, "Even though we came up short, we will always have the will to never give up. 2008 can be a season to be proud of if we keep our heads down and focus. With the support of our new partners, Castrol Syntec, Fresh From Florida, and Cobra Powersports, this zoom-zoom team will come to the track ready to win."
