The second place No. 30 MOMO/NGT Motorsport Porsche suffered severe damage to the left front. Kuba Giermaziak was driving at the time.

Kuba Giermaziak crashed the No. 30 MOMO/NGT Motorsport Porsche while running second in class. He drove behind the wall at around 10:15 Sunday morning with the left front wheel almost perpendicular to the rest of the car. The Scuderia Corsa Michelotto Ferrari 458 led the GT class under the yellow brought out by Giermaziak’s crash.

The race has been slowed by 13 caution periods, including one for fog that lasted almost an hour and 45 minutes.

Scott Pruett led overall in the Ganassi Racing BMW Riley. Jordan Taylor (Wayne Taylor Racing) was running second, followed by Joao Barbosa (Action Express). Both drivers were on the same lap as Pruett. Oliver Gavin (Spirit of Daytona) lay in fourth, one lap down. Sebastien Bourdais (Starworks) and Justin Wilson (Michael Shank Racing) were also one lap behind Pruett.

Wilson’s Shank car was seven laps down at one point due to fuel system issues. And Starworks has made all sorts of changes, including ride height and aero adjustments, in an effort to match the speed of Pruett’s Ganassi car.
