Michael Lovecchio Named GRAND-AM Communications Coordinator
Daytona Beach Native To Concentrate On Social, Digital Media Outreach
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 3, 2011) – GRAND-AM Road Racing announced today the hiring of Michael Lovecchio as Communications Coordinator, effective immediately.
Lovecchio’s main areas of concentration will be increasing GRAND-AM involvement in the social/digital media space, and maintaining the sanctioning body’s new media website, grand-ammedia.com.
His motorsports experience includes heading the 2011 communications efforts for two GRAND-AM Rolex Series teams – Action Express Racing and Spirit of Daytona Racing.
“Mike brings a variety of impressive skill sets to our communications team,” said Herb Branham, GRAND-AM managing director of communications. “He has a strong foundation of working in our sport, along with considerable knowledge in the critical area of social and digital media. We envision those two attributes combining, benefiting our department and the GRAND-AM industry overall.”
Lovecchio graduated from Daytona State College with an A.S. in Communications. He also was editor-in-chief for the school’s student publication in 2007 and ‘08, winning the Florida Community College Press Association’s General Excellence Award for best publication both years. He also covered motorsports and general sports as a freelance writer for a variety of publications, including the Daytona Beach News-Journal and Orlando Sentinel.
A native of the Daytona Beach area, Lovecchio resides in South Daytona Beach.
