Rock Hill, South Carolina 4-8-2005 Horizon Motorsports finished 10th in GT in the third round of the Grand American Rolex sports car series held at California Speedway. Expectations were a little higher than the results but the team was pleased with the outcome.

The Horizon GT qualified 10th and ran as high as third but a broken front sway-bar arm and some unnecessary bumping and grinding relegated the team to a 10th place finish.

The team worked especially hard as qualifying was bearing down. A broken axle in the previous session was proving itself difficult to extract. But unrelentingly as usual the call to arms bore the fruit of getting the repair done in the nick of time.

Kris Szekeres qualified the car 10th in class and at the drop of the flag did a great job weaving his way towards the front. Gaining more seat time with each race Szekeres continues to show tremendous strides as the season progresses.

Jeremy Treadway sat in for Charles Espenlaub who was at the TC race in St. Petersburg, Fla. Treadway had not sat in the car previously but demonstrated his driving talent by posting consistent competitive times.

Treadway took the checkered flag at 81 laps with a gallon of fuel left in the tank.

A good finish for the team after the heartbreak of Homestead.
