SONY LATIN AMERICA AND MILKA DUNO SIGN ENDORSEMENT AGREEMENT FOR XPLOD PRODUCTS
Agreement makes Duno the first spokesperson for a Sony product line in the region
CIUDAD MEXICO, March 3, 2006 -- Sony Latin America's product division for automobile entertainment systems announced this week that an agreement was signed with professional race car driver Milka Duno to become the spokesperson for the Xplod product line for the Latin America region.
"We are proud to work with Milka," said Alfredo Fuchs, Senior Marketing Manager for Mobile Electronics of Sony Latin America. "Although it is the first time Sony Xplod Latin America has hired an athlete as a spokesperson, we believe Milka combines the perfect balance between talent, knowledge and appearance that makes her an effective representative for our products. Her successful professional career in a sport dominated by male competitors sets her aside as an inspiring figure for our customers."
"It is a great honor for me to represent Sony's Xplod brand of automobile electronic products in Latin America. I love listening to music when I'm in the car, and now I can take it to the limit! It is a thrill to work with the Sony Latin America team and to get to know their dealers and customers," said Milka Duno.
Born in Venezuela, Milka speaks three languages and is a qualified Naval Engineer with four master degrees - earning the last three simultaneously. Milka started racing professionally in 2000, becoming the first Latin American female race car driver to achieve "expert" classification and the only Latina currently competing in the highest ranks in motorsports. Milka has been featured on the cover of numerous magazines and has received countless accolades for her sporting and personal achievements.
Milka is in her third straight season in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. She will compete with teammate Marino Franchitti and the CITGO Racing by SAMAX team at the wheel of the #11 Pontiac Riley Daytona Prototype. Her second race of the 2006 season is this weekend, Saturday, March 4, at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.
As part of her contribution to Sony, Milka will visit a number of countries in Latin America to promote the Xplod Products. Her itinerary will be announced shortly.
