LEXUS LEADS AT THE NINE-HOUR MARK OF THE ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA
The #02 Target/Telmex Lexus-Riley driven by 2007 Indianapolis 500 champion Dario Franchitti had stretched out a 14-second lead at the nine-hour mark of the Rolex 24 at Daytona early Sunday morning. In addition, teammate Juan Montoya has moved up to third-place as the Lexus/Ganassi effort attempts to win a record fourth consecutive Rolex 24.
Scott Dixon, #02 Target/Telmex Lexus: "So far so good at this stage in the race. We've been hanging around and have been pretty consistent so far. Dario, Alex and the team have all done their part as we reach the nine-hour mark so we are right where we need to be. The Porsches have definitely been fast to this point, but we just need to be in position to race them in the last few hours tomorrow."
