Daytona 500 Experience Welcomes
The No. 58 Brumos Racing Porsche -- The 2008 Rolex 24 Winner
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The history-making No. 58 Brumos Racing Porsche Riley that captured the 47th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona last month has found a new temporary home -- Daytona 500 Experience.
The No. 58 Porsche Riley with drivers David Donohue, Darren Law, Antonio Garcia and Buddy Rice captured the twice-around-the-clock marathon in late January in the closest finish in event history -- .167 seconds -- over the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley.
Now race fans will have the opportunity to get up close to the winning Rolex 24 car inside "The Official Attraction of NASCAR." The car, complete with the confetti, scratches and tire rubber from the Rolex 24, will be on display for the next few weeks.
"We're honored and thankful to Brumos Racing for giving us the opportunity to showcase their winning Rolex 24 car inside Daytona 500 Experience," General Manager Kim Isemann said. "This year's Rolex 24 is in the record books as the closest finish in event history and our guests will now have the opportunity to get a closer look at this history-making racing machine."
Daytona 500 Experience is also home annually to the winning Daytona 500 car. Fans will have their last chance to view Ryan Newman's 50th running of the Daytona 500 car during DIRECTV Speedweeks 2009.
The No. 12 Dodge will be returned to Penske Racing on Sunday morning, Feb. 15 prior to the Daytona 500. The following day, the attraction will welcome a new Daytona 500 winner during the ConAgra Champion's Breakfast.
