Monster Cable Need for Speed and TRG (The Racers Group) Reunite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., January 24, 2008 -- Reuniting a historic partnership that netted an overall victory in the 2003 Rolex 24 At Daytona and GT class victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Rolex 24 in 2002, TRG and Monster Cable Need for Speed announced Monster's support of the No. 67 Porsche GT3 beginning with this weekend's 46th Rolex 24 At Daytona. The announcement was made by TRG owner Kevin Buckler and Monster Cable chairman Noel Lee.

"I'm really excited to be reunited with Noel and the Monster Cable team," Buckler said. "We had a great partnership and have won all the big races together. Having everybody back here with us at the Rolex 24 is history in the making again. Noel has been a great friend and a partner, and all the Monsters have been great to deal with over the years. We're excited to be putting this partnership and the Monster Cable Need for Speed Porsche on the track this weekend. We've got a great slate of drivers."

Co-driving the No. 67 Monster Cable Need for Speed Porsche GT3 will be the car's full-time drivers for the entire 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16, up-and-coming professional racer Tim George Jr. and 2006 Rolex 24 At Daytona GT class winner Spencer Pumpelly. Joining George and Pumpelly will be 2005 Rolex 24 overall winner Emmanuel Collard and his fellow Porsche factory driver Romain Dumas, as well as 2003 U.S. F2000 champion Bryan Sellers.

Monster's collaboration with TRG is focused on the company's new Need for Speed campaign, which is designed to educate consumers on Monster's advanced, speed-rated HDMI cable.

"Kevin and all the team at TRG have been great partners through the years in all of our racing endeavors," said Lee. "We're really excited to be back and reunited with them here at historic Daytona International Speedway. We're very proud to have TRG represent Monster and the Need for Speed to show the world that Monster's advanced, speed-rated HDMI cables are the best."
