Workman Joins Matt Connolly Motorsports for Rolex 24 at Daytona

Daytona, FL: Jason Workman returns to the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 27-28, competing in a Matt Connolly Motorsports prepared BMW M3 in what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and diverse fields of GT machines in the history of the classic event. Matt Connolly Motorsports is fielding the only two BMWs in the huge 40+ field of entries, an entry list dominated by Porsche but with many manufacturers represented including Chevrolet, Pontiac, Ford, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda and Ferrari.

"I'm very excited to join Matt Connolly Motorsports for this great race," commented Workman. "He has assembled a great team backed by Matt Connolly's new sponsor BiltBest and competing with the reliable and competitive BMW M3. In a race where staying out of trouble and keeping the car running and out of the pits is a huge, if not determining factor, I think that we can keep up the pressure on the Porsches and everyone else. BMW M3 has been here before and I think that history of reliability will prove invaluable. It is surely going to be an exciting 24 hours of racing."

Workman is no stranger to GT competition, sports cars in general or even the 24 Hour classic itself. He competed with Matt Connolly Motorsports in 2006 with a top ten finish at Miller Motorsports Park. In 2004, Workman also found success behind the wheel of a Daytona Prototype entry with a solid 7th place finish in his debut appearance at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Workman was tapped to drive the lion's share of that race, in the driver's seat for 12 and-a-half hours of sometimes rain-soaked racing, to help secure the success of the team effort. His performance caught the eye of many racing veterans, including Matt Connolly who brought Workman on board as one of the co-drivers of his growing motorsports enterprise.

"Like everyone else who gets the chance to compete in a 24 Hour race, I find the excitement and the unique challenge of this competition very special. I'm very glad to be a part of the it."
