TERRY BORCHELLER (No. 8 Rand Racing Nissan Lola) - "I started out being sick, I got the flu or something. That was a bit to overcome, but God strengthened me throughout the weekend and it ended up all right. I might have a double-shift during the night, but drove all my regular shifts. These guys work so hard preparing the car, and the testing that we did coming into the race. It would have been a shame if we didn't win. We did everything right. That doesn't always mean you're going to win, but this weekend it worked out that way. It really is a good way to start the season."
BILL RAND (No. 8 Rand Racing Nissan Lola) - "I couldn't have asked for anything more. I couldn't have dreamed for anything more. We sure didn't expect that (to lead every lap), and to get third place overall, just tops it off. It's the best day of our racing career, which has been pretty short, but we're going to be going for a long time now. We're two for two right now (he won the Grand-Am Finale at Daytona in November), and we're trying to keep it going when we get to Homestead-Miami Speedway."
MAURO BALDI (No. 27 Doran Lista Judd Dallara) - "It's beautiful, because it's always difficult to repeat a win here at Daytona. We had the right car, but we didn't know if it was going to last for 24 hours. We had to repair some mechanical problems, but finally, the last hours, they were fantastic. I think we were saving a lot of revs, and this might have made the difference."
KEVIN DORAN -- (No. 27 Doran Lista Judd Dallara) - "We had quite a few problems. What comes to mind is one of Fredy's sayings, `If you fall down, stand up twice.' I imagine we stood up about 12 times during this race, because we had at least half a dozen troubles along the way. The Dallaras are an awesome car. The Judd's the nicest, most professional engine company I've ever been involved with. And with a driver lineup like we had, our job should be easy. If we can get rid of those few little gremlins, it would have been an easier time of it. This is the race that brands sports car racing in America, the Rolex 24 At Daytona. This is the fourth one for myself, the second one for Doran Enterprises, so it's our race. Now there's some momentum, we'll see if we can continue in the same direction. I hope we can go to Homestead-Miami Speedway and run for the Rolex Series championship."
MAX PAPIS (No. 27 Doran Lista Judd Dallara) - "I'm very, very excited. I'm happy for everybody at Lista Doran. This race in 1996 was very good to me. It opened the door to American racing, and now this is the greatest win in my career. I'm very happy. And doing it in an Italian car is even better."
FREDY LEINHARD (No. 27 Doran Lista Judd Dallara) - "Every part of this race is important, but in all, you have to get to the finish line. I can only say I am absolutely overwhelmed."
KEVIN BUCKLER (No. 66 The Racer's Group Porsche) - "I can't believe it. All three cars crossing the finish line, one of them winning it, I've got tears in my eyes. We've got seven years doing this, seven years. I've devoted my life for the last two months to this effort, and we were running one-two for half the night. I'm so proud of the team and all of our drivers and crew."
TIMO BERNHARD (No. 66 The Racer's Group Porsche) - "It was very good. At the beginning, it was very tough. It was especially tough during the night, when it was dark and there were a lot of cars out there. But then at the end, it was really cool. We were leading by a lot of laps, and it was easy."
JORG BERGMEISTER (No. 66 The Racer's Group Porsche) - "The team worked perfect. It went great. I had one cut tire during the night, that happened to me on the straight. It was a big moment, but everything worked well. Thank you to the whole team."
JIM MATTHEWS (No. 36 Matthews Elan Riley & Scott) - "We had a maintenance problem during the night. We had electrical failures, the lights, the alternator, the battery, so we probably lost 50 laps repairing things. But it was a lot of fun."
