December 28th, 2010 - Hinsdale, IL. -- 18 year old racing phenom Cooper MacNeil, from Hinsdale, Illinois would like to announce he has officially entered in the 49th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 29-30, 2011. Cooper will be piloting a Porsche RSR 997 in the GT class serviced and run by Mitchum Motorsports. MacNeil's team-mates for the 24 hour affair will be Randy Pobst and Joey Atterbury.

MacNeil, who made his GRAND-AM debut in 2010 in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Lime Rock Park, will make his Rolex series debut in the No. 86 Mitchum Motorsports Porsche GT3.

MacNeil, driving a Mazda 2 was the quickest driver on the team of far more experienced competitors.

"This is a great opportunity," MacNeil said. "To be taking part in a race I've always dreamed of competing in, with my coach and mentor Randy Pobst co-driving, is a dream come true. If we keep the car on the track we have a great shot at victory. Joey Atterbury is fast too, and with a team like Mitchum Motorsports we will surely have a well prepared car."

Cooper would like to thank, MacNeil Automotive Products, WeatherTech.com, Mitchum Motorsports and ProMotion Driver Development for the support.

MacNeil will do some extensive testing with the team in January at the Roar Before the 24.
