Freshly out of the cockpit of his ALMS Porsche where he raced in the American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Baltimore last Saturday, Al Carter is already on his way to California where he is expected to have a very busy weekend.

Carter won the GTC class of the ALMS Grand Prix of Baltimore last year but this year despite a great race where he ran in the top two in class most of his stint, he and his co-driver Kevin Estre were not able to finish the race due to an incident with a prototype that ruined their chances for a podium finish.

Two CTSCC races are yet to be raced this season and with co-driver Hugh Plumb. Al and Hugh are expected to go all out this weekend with their Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3. The two drivers have nothing to lose and want to give everything they have to offer themselves a chance to score a top result to prepare for the 2014 season.

Al Carter is happy to return to California. The Monterey Peninsula is one of the best places to race in North America and the 2.238-mile, 11-turn Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca featuring the famous corkscrew, is the most exotic track on the 2013 schedule.

"Racing at Laguna Seca is my favorite track. Nothing like screaming down the hill to turn 2, or seeing nothing but sky as you head uphill to the corkscrew," said Carter. "I am pulling double duty for Fall-Line in both the CTSCC BMW with Hugh Plumb and the Rolex Series Audi R8 with Bryan Sellers this weekend, so preparing myself for a busy and exciting weekend.

Given the luck, actually the lack of luck, that has been handed to Hugh and me in our Eagle B+ Racing BMW 2013 we will be driving aggressively for a podium. Our Fall-Line team works so hard, we want to give them something back in appreciation of their effort. Same with Bryan and me in the Audi, without points as a concern, and Fall-Line having several races with the Audi R8 under their belt, we will be driving hard for a podium finish."

Hugh Plumb has scored multiple podium finishes in his career at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and he is looking to use all his experience to take Al Carter and himself to the podium one more time before the end of the season.

"We have such a strong effort that can't seem to catch a break in terms of luck and reliability, both of which are vital," said Hugh Plumb. "Al Carter continues to perform at a high level, so we just need to put our heads down and perform like we know how at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Laguna Seca has been very good to me in the past, putting together podiums in a couple of different series. I will fight very hard again to put the No. 45 Eagle B+ Racing Fall Line BMW, back on the podium."

For the third time this season Al Carter will co-drive the No. 46 B+ Foundation Audi R8 GRAND-AM entered by Fall-Line Motorsports in the GT class of the Rolex Sports Car Series. Al will co-drive the Audi with Bryan Sellers who recently finished 5th at Kansas Speedway with Mark Boden behind the wheel of the R8. The Audi should be very competitive on the iconic Laguna Seca Raceway and both drivers are looking to score the first Rolex Series podium of Fall-Line Motorsports.

The Continental Tire Sports Car Festival is the first of two races held in September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The B+ Foundation is one of the leading nationwide childhood cancer foundations and Laguna Seca and Lime Rock races are important to them to showcase the foundation to help raise more money to help families in need and fund research. The B+ Foundation logo will be prominently displayed on both the 45 BMW and the 46 Audi this weekend in California.

The Continental Tire Sports Car Festival, round 9 of the 2013 Sports Car Challenge, starts with a promoter test day on Friday followed by the first day of official practice on Saturday. The first sessions are set for 9:15 AM and 1:35 PM (local time). Qualifying is set for Saturday at 4:00 PM (local time). The race start is scheduled for 10:00 AM (local time) on Sunday, September 8. The Continental Tire Sports Car Festival will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 (formerly Speed) on Sunday, September 15 at 4:00 PM ET.

The Rolex Sports Car Series race is scheduled for Sunday, September 8 at 2:00 PM (local time). The Rolex Sports Car Series at Mazda Raceway will be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports 1 at 5:00 PM ET.
