Points Leaders Qualify Sixth for Porsche 250

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 30, 2005) -- David Murry (Atlanta, Ga.) piloted the points-leading Synergy Racing No. 80 Porsche GT3 Cup to a 1:31.232 lap at 90.758 mph to pick up a third-row spot on the GT grid for Sunday's Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant at Barber Motorsports Park.

Murry will start the No. 80 Porsche in the sixth position before handing off to co-driver Craig Stanton (Long Beach, Calif.) midway through the race. The Atlanta resident will then slide behind the wheel of the No. 81 Porsche sponsored by autobysite.com and pipeservicestt.com. Mae Van Wijk (Houston, Texas), the youngest female driver in the field, qualified the No. 80 Porsche 26th in the GT class with her 1:37.368 lap.

Brian Frisselle (Aventura, Fla.) will start the Rx.com No. 8 BMW Doran Daytona Prototype on the fifth row overall after his 1:23.461 lap averaging 99.208 mph was the 10th fastest during qualifying. Brian shares the Rx.com machine with his older brother Burt.
