ORISON-Planet Earth Motorsports Heads Home from Alabama, Gets Ready for California

Birmingham, Ala. - The ORISON-Planet Earth Motorsports team traveled to Birmingham, Alabama this past weekend for the Porsche 250 and a chance at victory. They ran two cars on the track but were unable to produce a podium finish.

The Porsche 250 held at beautiful Barber Motorsports Park featured two of the ORISON-Planet Earth Motorsports cars. Driving for the team was Brett and Sam Shanaman in the No. 43 Porsche GT3 and Joe and Will Nonnamaker in the No. 41 Porsche GT#

The Shanamans have been reacquainting themselves with the ORISON-Planet Earth team this season. They drove with them several seasons ago and rejoined with them this year at the Watkins Glen race in June.

"Dad and I drove with them back in 1999 and really enjoyed ourselves. The team is very family oriented, which is how we love to go racing, "stated Brett Shanaman.

The team itself has been very competitive in the Super Grand Sport class this season. Winning two races mid-season put them at second place in the team point standings. After a series of unfortunate occurrences they look forward to the Fontana race.

"Our team has been running some very good races all season and despite a few things here and there we have done very well. We are looking forward to the race at California but it will be sad to see such a great season come to an end," stated Will Nonnamaker.
