COMPUSA TEAM AGAIN READY TO REEL IN ROLEX SERIES POINTS LEADERS

INDIANAPOLIS (July 28, 2005) -- A wise man once said unreasonable haste is the direct road to error. CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates drivers Scott Pruett and Luis Diaz will take those words of wisdom to Barber Motorsports Park this weekend as they try to steer the no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley down the road that leads to the checkered flag as the defending Rolex Series Champions find themselves second in the championship and waiting patiently as the series moves past the halfway point of the 14-race docket.

A scant seven championship markers separate the CompUSA squad from the venerable SunTrust Racing team (212-205) as the Grand American-sanctioned series shifts to the 45-foot wide, 16-turn flowing permanent road course just east of downtown Birmingham, Ala. for Round 8. With two wins and three poles already under their belt, the team will again look to regain their spot atop the championship standings as they return to the PORSCHE 250 presented by Bradley Arant as the defending polesitter.

"We've had some success at Barber Park with a pole and a solid showing in our first trip," said Pruett, who finished third at Barber Motorsports Park last year with Rolex Series co-driving Champion Max Papis. "This is the point in the season when you really have to put your game face on and win races. The CompUSA team is doing everything in its power to perform, and we'll go racing again this weekend and try to take back that points lead."

Teammate Diaz returns to the 2.3-mile circuit featuring a variety of elevation changes after scoring a top-five finish last year with Jimmy Morales in the no.02 CompUSA Lexus-Riley. Diaz' appetite for victory grows stronger each and every round, and the Mexican pilot would like nothing more than to take over the championship lead with a triumph in the Yellowhammer State.

"Starting the second half of the season, the pressure mounts with each passing race" said Diaz, who is scheduled to qualify the no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley for Sunday's 109-lap event. "Barber is a great track to drive, and one that I look forward to returning to after our first visit their last year. We've had a few weeks off since Daytona to gather ourselves, and I believe this weekend will start a string of successful weekends for the CompUSA team."

Fans of CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates can catch the no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley in action at the PORSCHE 250 presented by Bradley Arant in Birmingham, Ala. this Sunday, July 31st (LIVE, SPEED Channel, 1:00 pm ET) at Barber Motorsports Park for Round 8 of the Rolex Sports Car Series.
