ASC Motorsports Announces Driver Lineup for Birmingham
Tiffin, Oh - July 22, 2005 Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama hosts the Rolex Grand American Sports Car Series July 28-31. The Porsche 250 Presented by Bradley Arant on Sunday, July 31st is a 250 mile race for the Daytona Prototype and GT classes of the Grand Am series.
ASC Motorsports has announced the team's driver lineup for the Porsche 250. Johnny Miller from Johnson City, Tennessee will again team with owner/driver Zach Arnold of Tiffin, Ohio for the event.
Miller is an experienced sportscar driver and road course driving instructor who achieved outstanding results in the Trans Am series in cars very similar to the ASC Motorsports Corvette. Miller made his Trans Am debut at the Mid-Ohio round in 1994. In 2001 and 2002 he finished in the top 4 in points, and in 2003 had a win and eight top-five finishes on his way to second in the season championship. Miller has also competed in NASCAR Nextel Cup at Sears Point and at Watkins Glen. In 2003, driving the Kodak Easy Share Pontiac at the Glen, he was running as high as 4th before a mechanical failure took him out of contention.
Arnold Machine, Inc. of Tiffin, Ohio, which designed and built the race car and is now building and selling customer cars, continues to make improvements to the Prep 2 Corvette C5. With invaluable feedback from experienced Trans Am stalwart Johnny Miller, the team has incorporated engineering modifications that promise to bring ASC Motorsports to the front of the field.
ASC Motorsports will be sponsored at Barber Motorsports Park by Arnold Machine, Inc. (AMI).
The Porsche 250 Presented by Bradley Arant will be televised live on SPEED Channel July 31st beginning at 1:00 PM EDT.
ASC Motorsports is actively seeking a funded co-driver for the team's GT class Corvette C5 in the Grand Am series. The team has one seat available for the remainder of the season beginning with the CompUSA 200 at Watkins Glen August 11-12. We are looking for smart, quick drivers and offer a competitive car at competitive rates. If you're available for one or more of the upcoming races and are interested in joining a rapidly improving Grand Am team, call Zach Arnold at 419-443-1818 or e-mail Zach at email@example.com.
ASC Motorsports wants to develop a mutually beneficial marketing partnership. If your company is interested in spreading your corporate message through a thriving sport with a rising team, you should consider this opportunity. Sponsorships are available at several levels of participation. For additional information, contact Zach Arnold at firstname.lastname@example.org.
