It was a busy morning for the Stevenson Motorsports squad as the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series also held its qualifying session just prior to the Rolex Series session.
The Camaro GT.R. driven by John Edwards, Robin Liddell, Tommy Milner and Jan Magnussen was put out of the fight with multiple mechanical issues.
Bell contested the Continental Tire opener with Stevenson Motorsports GS Camaro. He drove the #51 APR Motorsport Audi R8 in the Rolex 24.
After a fire in Wednesday’s practice session, the team had to rally to make repairs to the car, replacing the entire front end and sorting out all the electronics.
Eric Curran: "This isn’t a Chevrolet Camaro type of track so I’m pumped and this puts us in a good point’s position."
The BMW powered team looks to improve on last years performance at the Daytona 24 hour race.
