Singing the Star-Spangled Banner
By Bill King

In the very fan-friendly tradition of the Rolex Grand American Sports Car Series, the driving crew of The Boss Snowplow No. 4 Howard-Boss Motorsports Pontiac Crawford were on pole in Daytona's Fan Zone this morning. A line of tables allows drivers to meet, greet and sign autographs for fans, about a half dozen teams at a time rotating.

The No. 4 lads - Jimmie Johnson, Elliott Forbes-Robinson and Butch Leitzinger - were at the head table signing posters, hero cards and hats, but few body parts as it remains a bit brisk at 55degF to bare midrifs. Later today, perhaps.

They're now on the pace lap with Leitzinger leading off from the eighth slot on the grid and doing a double stint. EFR will follow and then Johnson - all double-stinting. We'll follow their progress for the next 24 hours.
