Orlando to Host 2005 Grand American Rolex Series Champions Banquet
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 16, 2005) - For the second-straight year, the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series awards celebration will be in held in conjunction with one of the world's largest motorsports trade shows.
The 2005 Rolex Series Champions Banquet will be take place Wednesday, November 30, in Orlando, Fla. and will help kick-off the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show held December 1-3. The Orlando World Center Marriott will play host to the Rolex Series as it recognizes its top drivers, teams and representatives from the 2005 season.
"We're pleased to bring the banquet to Orlando and be part of one of the biggest motorsports trade shows again," Grand American President Roger Edmondson said. "Last year's celebration at Las Vegas around the SEMA Show was a huge success, and we expect this year's banquet to be equally as successful."
The evening begins with a champagne reception at 6 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner at 7 p.m. in the Canary Room. Awards will be presented throughout the evening to the top-three drivers, teams and sponsors in the Daytona Prototype and GT classes.
All competitors are invited to attend, and ticket information will be announced at a later date. Business attire will be the appropriate mode of dress for the evening. The Orlando World Center Marriott offers more than 2,000 deluxe guestrooms, a number of restaurants and lounges, a golf club, spa and fitness center and a full recreation center.
The 2004 banquet was held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on the day before the start of the SEMA Show and had more than 400 attendees. The PRI show annually attracts more than 40,000 members of the racing industry from 40 countries. With more than 1,300 companies exhibiting in 3,100 booths, it is the world's largest auto racing trade show and is known as the gateway to the worldwide racing marketplace.
