The weekend of Budapest, seventh round of the GP2 Series 2013 confirmed to be mean with satisfaction for Stefano Coletti also in the Sprint Race.
The Monegasque went wide at turn one managing to avoid being involved in an incident that required the safety car deployment. At the restart Coletti started to push with the objective of collecting some points but a problem to the front wing at lap seven forced him back to the pits, an event that in normal conditions is not required in the Sprint Race.
The race was won by Nathanel Berton (Trident Racing), who was followed by Mitch Evans (Arden International) and Tom Dillmann (Russian Time). Fifth place for Felipe Nasr (Carlin) instead, while Coletti, slowed down by the pit stop that rivals did not have to do, ended in twentieth position.
Coletti still is leading the championship standings with 135 points, with Nasr closing up at 129 while Leimer is third at 110.
Stefano Coletti: "As often happens in GP2 my weekend was mostly decided on Friday in qualifying. Yesterday and today I wanted to try to recover but in both cases an unscheduled pit-stop ruined my plans.
Now I have a smaller margin in the classification: this is not going to change our approach to the next races though; a stop in the breadth of a whole championship can happen and now I want to look ahead and work together with the team to be back on top in Spa ".
The GP2 Series will be back on track next 25 August in Spa (B).
