Trident was to end the year on an high note thanks to many positive findings. The team was able to conduct a valuable development program aimed at the next season.
Six drivers were featured aboard the team’s three cars during the three-day run at Yas Marina. On Tuesday, the cars were driven by Roman De Beer, Ivan Taranov e Juan Branger. De Beer stayed on-track the following day partnered by Robert Cregan, who drove for Trident n the last event of 2013, and Kuba Dalewski. The closing day featured again Cregan and Branger, joined by Saeed Al Mehairi, coming from the United Arab Emirates. For the 19-year-old De Beer, the test has been an occasion to get back on-track after missing the 2013 racing season. The South African found the right confidence with the car in a short time and established a constructive relationship with his engineers.Cregan completed a full program of set-up testing and also increased his chemistry with the car. Branger, who was still convalescent, had a tougher time but his performance, as well as for Taranov, Al Mehairi and Dalewski satisfied the team’s early expectations.
Luca Zerbini, Managing Director: “First of all, I want to thank the whole team for the huge amount of work completed throughout a long and demanding season. Once again, in the three-day test session at Yas Marina, the activity was completed without an hitch. We relied on six drivers with different experience and age and managed to familiarize with the needs of every one of them.
I was happy to see De Beer in great shape. He was able to enter the top-10 and end up with the 6th fastest lap overall. Now, during the winter, we will pick-up the work again in order to lay the best possible foundations for the next championship”.
