Van der Zande ready for GP3 season

Renger van der Zande cannot wait for the start of the inaugural GP3 season after a promising final test in Barcelona. The young Dutch driver was never out of the top 4 the whole test for his team, RSC Mucke Motorsport.

Barcelona is a track where Renger has scored several victories, most recently in Euro F3 and his experience of the Spanish track and Mucke's continued progress with the car meant a pretty positive test.

"It was pleasing to finish testing on a high. We used Paul Ricard to get know the car so in Barcelona we had a very good basic setup," said Renger.

"We focused on a setup so we can get the speed straight out of the box at the first round because we will not have a lot of track time during the race weekend. I am really looking forward to the start of the season - there is still room for improvement in both the car and myself which is great! I cannot wait to start the weekend on the 9th May."

The new GP3 Series has F1 drivers past and present owning and managing teams from Mark Webber to Ralf Schumacher, who is the RSC in RSC Mucke. GP3 will follow theF1 European season starting in Barcelona in May. Qualifying will take place on the Saturday along with Race 1. Race 2 is on the Sunday.
