2010 Mclaren Autosport BRDC award winner Lewis Williamson has finalised a deal to compete in the GP3 Series with MW Arden this season.
The talented young Scottish driver (21) enjoyed a fantastic season in 2010, finishing a strong runner up in Formula Renault UK, he then impressed in the post season GP3 test at Estoril setting the quickest time in a number of the sessions and to finish the year he was crowned British young driver of the year at the Autosport awards in December, beating a number of highly regarded young talents to receive this prestigious prize.
MW Arden Team Manager, Julian Rouse comments: "We are absolutely delighted to have Lewis working with us in 2011. He is obviously a driver with a huge amount of talent and application. He has proven time and time again how quickly he can develop and adapt as a driver, so I have every confidence he will enter into his first season of racing in a European Championship being very competitive right from the start. I know Lewis will fit into the team straight away and completes a very exciting driver line up for us this year."
Lewis Williamson comments: "It is great to be part of MW Arden for 2011 and getting the chance to compete in the GP3 Championship. I am very grateful to the team and Highland Arena for making this possible. They have done a great job from both sides, now it is my chance to do my bit and give a 110% to it."
