Facu Regalia improves in GP3
In his second day with a GP3 car, again with the Addax Team, Facu Regalia ended the day alongside drivers who were much more experienced in the series. Tomorrow he will have a new opportunity, this time with Status Grand Prix.
The Spanish-Argentinean driver had a very profitable day, this Thursday, at Jerez de la Frontera. The youngster, who tried this Wednesday for the time the GP3 car, didn't have any technical gremlin in the second day, which allowed him to make use of the six hours of track time.
With the experience gathered in the first day, Facu Regalia was in the track since the first moment, but the Addax Team single seater had a nervous and erratic handling. "We worked hard in the set-up, because in the morning the car was understeering. Nevertheless, I began to understand the car and we made some changes in it that were maintained in the afternoon", said the Spanish-Argentinean confident in his evolution.
In the afternoon Facu Regalia showed his true pace, reaching, at some point, the eight place of the timesheets. However, he would end in the fourteenth place, between thirty drivers, loosing just two tenths for the seventh fastest lap. "It was an enjoyable afternoon, because everything went very smoothly. I believe I could be faster, because I did my best lap with old tyres, but I was still learning about the Pirelli rubber. Besides, I made some mistakes in my flying lap, but I'm very happy with the team and with how everything went during this two days", underlined the Spanish- Argentinean driver at the end of the day.
In the last day of the GP3 test at Jerez de la Frontera. Facu Regalia will test with Status Grand Prix.
