Bamboo Engineering GP3 saved the best ‘til last on the final day of testing at the official GP3 test in Estoril today, with Lewis Williamson going quickest in the brand-new Bamboo Engineering GP3 car.
The Bamboo Engineering GP3 outfit rounded off a successful first pre-season test week by seeing their Lewis Williamson piloted GP3 car go outright fastest on the final day of testing in Portugal with a time of 1:27.675, nearly 2 seconds faster than the previous fastest time set in an earlier session of the test.Richard Coleman: “This week has been great for our GP3 team. We’ve learnt a lot about the car and the series. All the boys we’ve tested did a good job. It’s a great sign to come away from Estoril having gone quickest in the first pre-season testing event.”
“It’s an incredibly competitive grid and we have a lot of work still to do before the first race in May, but it’s a challenge which we all relish.”
Despite a strong final day of testing, Lewis Williamson is currently unsigned. Both parties are working very hard to make a deal happen soon.
On Thursday 21st February, Bamboo Engineering GP3 announced that they had recruited the services of Venezuelan native Roberto La Rocca for the upcoming 2013 GP3 Championship season.
