ROSSI SIGNS WITH ART Grand Prix

Nevada City, California, January 19, 2010 - Alexander Rossi will contest GP3 Series in 2010, driving for the prestigious ART Grand Prix team. The arrangement will see the 18-year-old American racing at eight venues in 2010, including seven with Formula 1, beginning at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona on May 9th.

"This is a great opportunity for me," says Alexander. "ART is arguably the best junior team in the world. They've won in every series they've contested and I wouldn't want to be driving anywhere else. Nicolas Todt and I have been discussing my racing future for some time, and now we're finally able to work together. I'm thankful for the confidence that Nicolas and Frederic have in my abilities and look forward to getting to work at the first test in Paul Ricard."

"The GP3 Series promises to be a great championship," says ART Grand Prix co-owner Nicolas Todt. "It fits our team's vocation to be involved in the most competitive series, and with drivers of Alexander's calibre in our line- up we have all the assets we need to honour our company's records."

The all-new GP3 car was tested by F1 driver Mark Webber, at Paul Ricard, France before Christmas. GP3 cars have been despatched from Dallara's factory in Italy yet, so it will most likely take a team of ART Grand Prix's 1 experience and professionalism to extract the maximum from the chassis prior to the season-opening race in Barcelona

The first GP3 test session will take place at Paul Ricard on 03-04 March. Alexander already knows the track, having tested a GP2 car at the circuit last year, and that will allow him to focus his attention on the new car and new Pirelli tires.

"Dallara design and build the GP3 and GP2 cars," says Alexander. "They have done a great job with GP2 car, which seems to suit my driving style very well, so one can imagine that I will be able to adapt very quickly to the GP3 car. My goal in testing will be to learn the performance of the Pirelli tire and how it relates with Dallara's new car as soon as possible. ART Grand Prix has proven their ability to develop a new car and we should be in contention for the championship at the onset."
