GOOD RESULTS FOR ADDAX TEAM IN PAUL RICARD TESTS.

After two days of official practice at the Paul Ricard circuit, the GP3 Addax Team can feel very satisfied with the excellent results obtained. All three drivers finished in the top ten in the final session, with Felipe Guimares posting the fourth quickest lap time, Mirko Bortolotti was sixth and Pablo Sanchez ninth. The sunny but windy weather over the two days meant that the teams were able to work in good conditions. The Spanish team have clearly worked hard to develop the car and the results are very satisfactory. The development of the cars and the work carried out within the team has given the team hope for the coming campaign.

Pablo Sanchez: The young Mexican driver was consistent throughout the sessions. He started by setting the second fastest lap time and spent the rest of the time working on the evolution of the car, which meant that he only used two of the three sets of tyres that were permitted. In the morning session on the second day, he started to have mechanical problems leaving him inactive for most of the session and even when he did get back on the track he wasn't in the best condition to set fast lap times. However, things changed completely in the afternoon and if he didn't set the fastest lap, it was because his progress was halted by yellow flags in the second sector, after having set the fastest time in the first

Mirko Bortolotti: The first day was very frustrating due to electric problems, which left him inactive throughout almost the whole of the morning session. The problems were difficult to detect and this meant that the repair was an arduous task. In the afternoon, well into the session he suffered from ignition failure. On the second day things were improving for both driver and car but a software problem left the team without data. In the afternoon session he set the sixth fastest lap time, which could have been better if we take into account his fastest times in each sector, particularly after having improved in the sector that had been causing him problems in previous sessions.

Felipe Guimares: He has had a great two days of tests, especially when you consider that this was his debut and he needed the first session just to get to know the circuit. In the afternoon, he worked with the team testing the aerodynamics and his adaptation to the new car. At the end of the session, when he tried to set some sort of time, he suffered from turbo damage. On the second day, he was on a par with other drivers, most of whom already had three days of tests under their belts. He posted the sixth fastest lap time in the morning and was fourth in the final session.

The next and final tests of the pre-season will take place on the 13th-14th of April at the Spanish circuit of Montmelo, Barcelona. The season starts at the same circuit between the 7th and 9th of May as part of the Spanish Formula 1 weekend.
