Because of an, at least, unusual race 2 starting procedure the Trident Racing drivers could not collect what they deserved. Despite this the scuderia finished its first racing weekend scoring some championship points. The team owner Maurizio Salvatori said: "Four months ago thinking to score five points in Valencia was looking like a dream. Now that we got them I am satisfied, this is a absolutely a positive first step. A praise to all the boys in the team for the potential they showed".

GIMMI BRUNI # 26
5 place - 2 points

"Because of the extra formation laps the temperatures increased too much consequently the anti-stall device made the gearbox refusing the first gear. I started with the second gear and this conditioned my whole race. I could just defend my position trying to bring the car home. At the end I scored some points again but we deserved more".

ANDREAS ZUBER #27
13 place - Fastest lap

"Starting from the twentieth position is not comfortable, starting even later from the pitlane because of the trouble made by someone else it not the ideal. Anyway the car was fast and I committed myself for good. Some overtakes and some retirements and I finished thirteenth which could be acceptable, considering the circumstances. While recovering I set the fastest lap, seven tenths faster than the winner, but I gained no point because I started from the pitlane. I know I could come back from Valencia with a better result but I'm happy even with this".
