Trident Racing debut could be considered quite satisfying. Gimmi Bruni in fact finished at an honourable sixth place, Andreas Zuber had to retire because of a contact with Lapierre while he was fifth. The two Trident Racing drivers started respectively from tenth and fourteenth position. During the early stages of qualifying they were second and fourth but they suffered traffic problems while attempting with the second set of tyres. During the race anyway they both recovered many positions. Gimmi Bruni, who showed his new helmet decoration today, even performed a show at the start jumping four cars before the first corner.

GIMMI BRUNI # 26

"I could be faster in qualifying but for two times I had a spun car in front of me just while I was flying. So I finished in fifth row. At the start I was super concentrated so I started better than anyone reaching the first corner at P3. I was fifth when I pitted but the strategy penalized me, I should have done it three laps before, so I went tenth in the end. But I did not give up recovering up to the sixth place again. The car was good during the race and, considering that tomorrow I will start from the second row, I believe I get the chance to bring a good result home, so I will be able to pay back all the team for their great job".

ANDREAS ZUBER # 27

"I could do a better qualifying but I was not able to avoid some traffic problems. But during the race I jumped three cars at the start, then I overtook another couple and finally, thanks to an early pit-stop I had free space in front so I could place a good series of fast laps. At the end of the pit-stop sequence I was in fifth position. Then Lapierre tried to pass me, but he lost his rear while braking and hit me. I had the worst in the contact so I had to retire. Naturally this got me angry but all in all I believe I demonstrate that I was doing a good race. I must say a big thank you to the crew for a perfect pit-stop and for giving me a car two tenth faster than the winner one as fastest lap".

GIMMI BRUNI'S NEW HELMET

Gimmi Bruni raced today with his new crash helmet designed by Drudi Performance, a company from Riccione Italy specialized in helmet decoration which realize the graphics for the helmets of Valentino Rossi and many other riders. "I asked Aldo Drudi to design for me a new helmet but keeping the colour scheme I'm affectionate to. - says Gimmi Bruni - Aldo completely succeeded in this with an innovative style which I loved at first sight. I think it's very beautiful and it will bring me good luck". Aldo Drudi commented: "I designed an helmet for a driver for the first time and I'm happy that Gimmi likes it. I and my staff realized it trying to put together the novelty typical of the bikers with the more relevant characterization preferred by the grand prix drivers".
