The GP2 championship enters final straight
Ocean Racing Technology heads to the street circuit of Valencia,Spain, the theatre of the seventh round of the 2009 GP2 Main Series, hopeful of adding to their current points tally. The championship will come to an end in a short month's time and the Portuguese team is determined to conquer further strong performances in the eight races left to contest.
After a four week break, Alvaro Parente and Karun Chandhok are eager to take to the wheel once again and are confident they have the right package to obtain further good performances on the streets of Valencia. "Valencia is a track that I like very much. Last year I ran out of fuel with two laps to go but I'm confident everything will be much better this year and my aim is to get a good result," says Alvaro Parente. "I think all the conditions are there for us to be strong in Spain. I'm sure points will be within our grasp as long as we find a good set-up and we will work with this in mind."
Teammate Karun Chandhok is also in a hurry to return to racing, the Indian driver also impatient to secure more points for the remainder of the championship. "It's not exactly my favourite track but Valencia has some interesting features. It is one of the most demanding circuits on the brakes and this is a real challenge in itself. I'm confident that I will be able to fight with the front runners. The coming month will be very intense and I am very important to gather more experience," explained the Indian driver.
Hot temperatures should prevail throughout the Valencia weekend, with a maximum set to exceed 30o.C with clear blue skies.
