A technical problem forced Stefano Coletti to the retirement during lap twenty-four.
The Main Race of Monza, ninth round of the GP2 Series 2013, ended with an unexpected retirement for Stefano Coletti.
At the pit stop a lock up forced Team Rapax's driver to slightly speed in the pit lane and a few laps afterwards he was penalyzed by marshals with a drive through. Slipped down to the back, Coletti kept on pushing well determined to get into the points no matter what but a technical problem forced him to the retirement during lap twenty-four.
The race was won by Fabio Leimer (Racing Engineering), who was followed by Sam Bird (Russian Time) and Tom Dillmann (Russian Time). Felipe Nasr (Carlin) had to retire instead.
Leimer is the new classification leader with 153 points, followed by Bird at 145 and Coletti at 135. Nasr is currently fourth at 130.
