Stefano Coletti race 2 report

Asia: Imola

Stefano Coletti on the spotlight again in the final round of the GP2 Asia Series 2011

20/03/2011 - Stefano Coletti has been protagonist of another strong performance in the second and final round of the GP2 Asia Series 2011 held in Imola.

The Monegasque produced a great performance in race one bringing his Trident Dallara Renault from sixteen to fifth under the chequered flag and gaining eleven positions, three of which with a perfect start. Coletti pushed hard throughout the race getting the most out of his car and crossed the finish line well within points.

In race two, Stefano has been flawlessly hit from the back by a competitor at the Tamburello braking after a good start from the second row. In the collision he got his rear wing damaged and was then forced to an early retirement.

Coletti ended the GP2 Asia Series 2011 in fourth position in the standings with 11 points.

Stefano Coletti: "Imola's weekend gave us positive indications for the Main Series, as happened in Abu Dhabi. The balance of the car was almost perfect in race one and this allowed me to push as I wanted; in race two a trivial and probably avoidable mistake by one of my rivals prevented me from getting the third final place in the final standings. Despite of this episode both me and the team are very satisfied with the level we reached".
