Practice in the rain for Bianchi and Bortolotti

Spa-Francorchamps, 27 August 2010 -- The eighth round of the GP2 series is taking place in Spa, alongside the thirteenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship. Jules Bianchi, along with the twenty three other competitors faced tricky conditions in qualifying, which was held in the rain and featured no less than four red flags. Art Grand Prix's young French driver, fully recovered from breaking the second lumbar vertebra in an accident in Race 1 in Budapest ended the seemingly endless session in fifteenth spot with a time of 2.17.632, while pole went to the DPR team's Michael Herck (2.15.661) ahead of Jerome D'Ambrosio (2.15.942) driving for the DAMS team and Pastor Maldonado (2.15.967) at the wheel of one of the two Rapax cars.

Mirko Bortolotti, another Ferrari Driver Academy student, was taking part in the seventh round of the junior GP3 series, here in the Ardennes and set the twenty fifth time in 2.33.134 at the wheel of one of the three Addax Team entries, in the free practice session, dominated by Manor Racing's Adrian Tambay (2.29.381,) ahead of Nico Muller (2.29.940) driving for Jenzer Motorsport and ART Grand Prix's Esteban Gutierrez (2.30.424.)
