Good Qualifying for Alvaro Parente

Alvaro Parente showed today a great performance at the qualifying for the first GP2 race of the British Grand Prix and, tomorrow, will start from the third place of the grid.

As usual, the qualifying was very competitive, but the Portuguese driver was always capable of fighting for the top places, as he had already showed in the practice during the morning, when he was fifth fastest.

With the Ocean Racing Technology's car well balanced, Alvaro Parente wasn't able to fulfil his potential with the first set of tires, due to the traffic, but with the second he signed the third fastest time, loosing less than a tenth to Alberto Valerio, the second fastest. "The car is very well balanced, is very fast in the fast corners, which is very important in this circuit. In the slower corners it's harder, but that's the way to be fast at Silverstone. This result is very important for me and for the team, after all the problems that we had along this season and I'm very pleased to start from a good place of the grid", underlined the young driver sponsored by Soccerade, Delta, TMN, Aurora Group, Geotur and Cision.

To tomorrow's race, the twenty-four years old driver expectations are, unsurprisingly, high, because he starts from a grid good position and has a fast car. "I feel very well and motivated and that leaves me confident that we can achieve a podium position tomorrow. Of course that the win is the main goal for any driver, and I think we can fight for it, but we have to be careful so we can guarantee a good result", said Alvaro Parente, who won at Silverstone two 2005 British Formula 3 Championship races.

Take a look on how Alvaro Parente managed to do a lap good enough to be in the third position of the first GP2 race grid.
