POLE POSITION AT HOME GRAND PRIX

Adam Carroll heads an all British front row at Silverstone tomorrow. The 23 year old from Northern Ireland set the time on his first flying lap of the half hour session and had a nervous wait as the clock ticked down. Despite pushing throughout the session, he couldn't beat his 1:29:104, even though Nelson Piquet Jr did.

Unfortunately for the Brazillian, he loses his fastest time after ignoring a yellow flag in practice leaving a delighted Carroll to entertain his fans from the front.

"It is great to get pole position in front of my home crowd. I've lived near here for the last five years, I have lots of fans and support and I can't wait for the race. To have an all British front row at the British Grand Prix is wonderful for the fans."

It has been a frustrating season for Carroll and his Racing Engineering team. A podium in Germany was followed by two disappointing results but now he hopes his luck has changed.

"We have been improving all the time and our car is getting quicker every weekend. Now I just hope it all goes well tomorrow."
