Grosjean quickest in morning session at Paul Ricard

Barwa Campos Team man signed the fastest laptime in a 1:09.015

The first three-day test session of the GP2 Series 2009 season resumed this morning at Paul Ricard. As planned, the thirteen teams mainly concentrate today on aero mapping and high speed configuration. On a sunny 2A track configuration that includes a long straight, sophomore Romain Grosjean set the pace in a 1:09.015 at the wheel of his Barwa Campos car. He was closely followed by Spaniard rookie Dani Clos at Fat Burner Racing Engineering and yesterday's quickest racer Javier Villa at Super Nova.

Behind the Top 3, ART's Pastor Maldonado led DPR's Michael Herck. Veteran Lucas di Grassi finished sixth on the second Fat Burner Racing Engineering car, ahead of Alvaro Parente at Ocean Racing Technology, Andreas Zuber at FMS and rookie Nico Hulkenberg on the second ART machine. Belgian Jerome d'Ambrosio at Dams completed the Top 10.

Twenty-one drivers finished within the same second.

The session will restart this afternoon at 2:00pm, local time
