Nico Rosberg confirmed his status as the man of the moment in GP2 series as he set his second consecutive pole position for tomorrow`s first race of the weekend in Hockenheim, Germany, with Scott Speed and Alexander Premat completing the top three places.

As he did in Silverstone a couple of weeks ago, by taking two consecutive victories, Rosberg became today in the first driver to repeat pole position in the series.

"It was a really, really good lap, but there are always little things you can do to improve it. So it wasn't a perfect lap, but it was very, very good! I'm really happy that it worked out okay and that I got pole, and the gap was great", commented Rosberg. The ART Grand Prix driver held a margin of 0.504 over Speed after the session.

In a cloudy journey with chances to rain for Saturday, the poleman analyses it chances of add tomorrow his third win in four races: "I don't know -- we'll see -- but the race is quite long. Starting on pole helps a lot, and hopefully I can get a good start and we'll see what happens after that. We've got to make a few changes in the set up, because there are always things you can improve on the car, especially for the race. So we'll try to get that right for tomorrow".

The weather conditions can change the plans of a racing weekend in just seconds, and Rosberg doesn`t want to be taken by surprise. "Hopefully it will be dry, although we were quickest in the wet at Paul Ricard so it shouldn't be such a problem, but there are always bigger risks when it rains. I was really good in karting and back in the day, but in Formula Three it was terrible -- I think it was more how the car ran than anything else", he said.

Second place belongs to Speed, on his return to the front row after the pole he took in Spain in round two of the season. "We've got a solid position for the race, and obviously we're quite quick around here, so we stand a good chance", he noted.

The American dominated the practice session in the morning which put him as the candidate to the first place, but someone appeared in the scene: "We've been really fast here in the morning, so I kind of expected to have a bit of a leg up on everyone. In qualifying Rosberg was obviously a big surprise for everyone", Speed mentioned.

Speed will try tomorrow to take his first series victory, something that seems to be close for the man that had four podiums so far in GP2.

"We've been getting great starts lately, so obviously if I can get into P1 at turn one tomorrow, then we can walk. It's going to be close though, realistically -- he's (Rosberg) quite quick, so hopefully we're just there in turn one", Speed stated.

Premat caught third overall and completed the good day for ART Grand Prix. The French came from a strong weekend in Silverstone where he took a podium and a fifth in the two races.

Despite third place is a good result for Premat, the gap of almost one second with Rosberg, is a matter of concern for him: "I`m happy with this qualifying because I did a good time, although I'm not so happy that the gap to Nico is really big! He was nine tenths quicker, and that's not so good, but on my first and second laps I made some mistakes so I think I should have been able to fight with Speed for second place", he commented.

However, the Frenchman looks confident for tomorrow, although the weather will take his part too. "Since Magny-Cours I have been very nice, very confident, and I am doing okay in the races. I can't say that I am not so happy because it's always nice to do good. I drove only one time at Paul Ricard [in GP2] in the wet, and that was really hard!", Premat said.

Olivier Pla, Borja Garcia, Ernesto Viso, Adam Carroll, Nelson A. Piquet, Heikki Kovalainen and Cilvio Piccione completed top ten positions.

Kovalainen leads the championship with 64 points, 20 more than Rosberg in second. Speed is in third with 41, while Adam Carroll, 34, and Gianmaria Bruni, 33, completes top five places.

Arden International is on top for the teams' championship with 76 points, closely followed by ART, 70, while Super Nova, 44; iSport, 43 and Coloni, with 36, are in the fight for third place.
