Top places for Fat Burner Racing Engineering on last test day

Eventful third and last day of GP2 tests at the Circuito de Jerez, where Fat Burner Racing Engineering drivers Dani Clos and Jerome d'Ambrosio were always in the top places of both the morning and afternoon sessions.

The day at the Spanish track began under grey skies and rain which forced the teams to use wet tyres during the first stints. The tricky conditions of the track caused several red flags that hampered both Fat Burner Racing Engineering drivers from progressing. However, both managed to set the fastest times of the morning session with the Spaniard leading his team-mate by 0.061 seconds.

In the afternoon, with the threat of rain once again on the horizon, both Dani and Jerome tried to make the best of a dry track. The Spaniard was well on his way to top the time-sheets, but his efforts to improve were hampered, once again, by red flags and at the end he had to settle for second. The Belgian, on the other hand, was showing a very good pace, but a problem with his car's gearbox sent him back to the garage 30 minutes from the end of the session. The fast work of the Spanish team made possible for Jerome to go back onto the track during the last moments of the session, where he set the fourth best time.

Dani Clos: It has been a very positive day, despite starting with rain. At the end of the morning session, when the track was already drying up, we mounted the slick tyres and were quite fast. But I found some traffic and that cost me around half a second. During the afternoon session we were at the top of the time sheets. The car was going very well but, as we thought the conditions would worsen towards the end of the session, we mounted the new tyres too soon. At the end we went out again with the old tyres and I was about to set my best time when I found some more traffic because the new guys do not really check their mirrors… On top of that, whenever I went out with new tyres, the session was red flagged just after completing my warm up laps and when I was going for the flying lap. However, it has been a good day. We have done a good job and I believe it has been a good test towards next season.

Jerome d'Ambrosio: Everything was going really well today until we had an issue with the gearbox. I was on a really fast lap when on the start/finish straight I lost a lot of time due to that glitch. It's a real shame as I believe I could have made P1. Nevertheless, I am really happy with today. I like working with the Fat Burner Racing Engineering team and I like the car.

Alfonso de Orleans-Borbon, Team Principal: Red flag, red flag, red flag... Today was a bit extreme in that aspect, but I am really happy with the work done by the boys. These last three days we had six drivers in our cars who all did a really fantastic job. I am quite satisfied by everything.
