Reigning GP2 champion Stoffel Vandoorne reckons Sergey Sirotkin will be expected to replicate the Belgian's title-winning campaign in the upcoming season.
Sirotkin succeeded Vandoorne as GP2's top-placed rookie last year and has since signed for the Belgian's ART squad, which had helped the McLaren junior to a record-breaking 2015 season.
"[Sirotkin] definitely had a good rookie season in GP2, he came third in the championship and had some strong performances," Vandoorne said. "And obviously he’s joining a great team with ART.
"So the pressure is on him now to do well as I did, and hopefully ART can clinch another title."
However, Vandoorne did note that Sirotkin's title challenge was unlikely to be a walkover.
“I think he definitely won’t be alone fighting for the championship. If you look at drivers that might end up in GP2, it’ll probably be between him, Lynn, Evans, Gasly, Rowland…
"There are a lot of big names, but it’s the one who will be most consistent will end up winning it."
