The Bulgarian pilot Plamen Kralev signed a contract with Trident Racing for 2009-10 season in GP2 Asia. He will be the first Bulgarian to take part in the prestigious F1 feeder series.

Plamen will participate in all rounds of the series in the forthcoming season with first race in Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. In a GP2 test in November it will be decided whether he will drive for Trident in GP2 2010 main series.

The third GP2 Asia season lineup consists of 26 cars, the same number as F1 is supposed to have in line for 2010. Trident Racing has 5 wins, 2 pole positions, 8 podiums and 7 fastest laps.

Plamen Kralev's career started in 2007 with GT racing. He has 5 wins in Ferrari Challenge in 2007 and 2008, participation in FIA GT3 in 2008 and 24 hours of Le Mans 2009. At the beginning of 2009 he raced in International GT Open.
