GP2 Series first winter tests at the Paul Ricard HTTT

After the end of the 2006 season in Monza -- Italy, where Lewis Hamilton was celebrated as the 2006 GP2 Series champion, the Paul Ricard HTTT welcomes the thirteen GP2 Series teams for their first winter test session. Teams will test news drivers during two days for the forthcoming 2007 season.

Amongst the 27 drivers, eleven young drivers made today their GP2 Series debuts on the 3D track solution (3,853 km), such as Brazilian Bruno Senna (DPR).

The best lap time was realised today by Italian Giorgio Pantano (Campos Racing) in 1:14.390, who won both of the final races in Monza last month.

Teams will continue tomorrow their test session on the same track solution.
